AI Rap vs Rap Duet: which one should you make
Both templates put a rap performance in your feed. The difference is the cast: AI Rap stars one person in a scene you choose from four options; Rap Duet stages two people trading verses on one stage with generated sound. This guide puts them side by side so the choice takes less time than the render.
The two templates side by side
The comparison is mostly about inputs and staging, because both render at the same lengths and the same quality tiers.
- Performers: AI Rap is a solo act; Rap Duet is two performers interacting on one stage.
- Photos: AI Rap needs one clear photo; Rap Duet needs two independent portraits, one per person.
- Scene: AI Rap offers four scene presets — orange studio, neon street, cyber car drop, stage spotlight; Rap Duet fixes one orange studio stage shared by both performers.
- Audio: Rap Duet generates ambient performance audio with the video; AI Rap delivers silent clips you score yourself.
- Best for: solo creators and pet accounts lean AI Rap; duos, friends and long-distance pairs lean Rap Duet.
Both are styled performances. Neither template does word-for-word lip-sync to uploaded lyrics, and neither accepts copyrighted music.
Choose AI Rap when…
You have one photo of one person and you want them to be the whole show. The four scene presets give a solo performer range the duet stage cannot — a neon street at night, a car door in a neon garage, a festival stage — and the silent output means the caption and the soundtrack are entirely yours.
It is also the right pick when the second person does not exist: pets, a single group member, a character from your own photos. One good photo is the entire material list.
Choose Rap Duet when…
You have two people and the point of the clip is the two of them. The shared stage, the call-and-response framing and the generated performance audio make it read as a collaboration — which is exactly what a duo, a couple of friends, or two halves of a long-distance pair want from the post.
Budget one extra decision: both photos need matching light and similar camera distance, or the stage will show the seam. If only one good portrait exists, AI Rap with the strong photo is the honest choice.
Cost at a glance
Both templates bill per second of output at the same resolution tiers, so a four-second test costs the same on either template at the same quality. The real cost difference is operational: Rap Duet needs two passing photos where AI Rap needs one, which doubles the chance the free readiness check asks for a better input first.
The live cost counter on each trend page shows the exact total for the model, quality and length you pick before you confirm. Start at four seconds on the entry tier; re-render the keeper at full length once the photos prove out.
Still unsure? A one-minute decision path
Count the people in your best photo. One person: AI Rap. Two people in separate photos: Rap Duet. Two people in one shared frame: neither — crop to one person for AI Rap, or reshoot for the duet, because the duet template wants one portrait per performer.
Then decide what the post is for. A personal flex or a pet account is solo territory. A collaboration, a reply to another creator, or a couple post is duet territory. If both apply, make the solo version first — it needs one passing photo instead of two.
You can switch templates at any time from the create page; photos already uploaded and checked carry over to either rap template.
Frequently asked questions
Do both templates need two photos?
No. AI Rap needs exactly one photo of one person. Rap Duet needs two independent portraits, one per performer. Both render in 4, 8 or 15 seconds at the same quality tiers.
Which one has audio?
Rap Duet generates ambient performance audio together with the video. AI Rap clips are silent by design so you can attach your own track without copyright risk.
Can I make a duet with one photo of both people?
Not currently. Rap Duet wants one portrait per performer so each likeness can be staged on the shared stage. A single frame with both faces works for the AI Hug template instead.
Is either template word-for-word lip-sync?
No. Both produce styled rap performances with expressive mouth movement and gestures, but neither syncs to uploaded lyrics or audio. There is no music upload step on either template.
